I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport in October of 2018. I started out associating with my aunt and uncle for a year and a half and learned so much. Being an associate was probably the most important part of my career so far, but like many of us as students and young doctors, we have ambitions to have our own practice. I just didn’t really know how, when, or even where this dream would come about. Running into the right people and keeping an open mind set me up for my future. I bought an existing clinic in East Dubuque, IL that has been up and running for 42 years. Taking over a practice from a very respected doctor is not easy, but was well worth it. Now, just over 7 months in from taking over the practice I can say this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.
Chatting with Dr. Eric Effertz about his journey in chiropractic so far, what he's learned from associating, and how he made the transition to purchasing a pre-existing practice.
